SON Web Policy
Responsibilities
- The TIER Web group is responsible for
a) providing SON web site hosting,
b) managing web resources and technical issues regarding web accounts, web servers, system configurations, and web server maintenance,
c) administering and managing the web publishing process and workflow (including web templates),
d) determining and managing the organizational structure and appearance of the SON web presence,
e) providing web technology training, and consultation on web best practices to content owners and web editors,
and
f) working with representatives across the SON to establish appropriate web policy and guidelines for the School.
- The Academic Services group is responsible for
a) maintaining the Admissions/Prospective Students and the Current Students web sites, and
b) working with content owners and web editors from SON departments to assure information for prospective and current students is non-redundant and accurate across all SON web sites.
- The Web Steering Committee is responsible for
a) meeting periodically to
provide web planning, policy, and priority recommendations and help set the future direction for the SON’s web presence.
- Content Owners are responsible for
a) working with web editors to maintain their web sites
b) assuring their web sites comply with local, state and federal laws and school and university policies, rules, and regulations, and
c) assuring their web sites comply with SON web policy and web best practices.
