The MN/DNP Coordinating Committee (MNDNPCC) is responsible for program evaluation of the MN and MS
degree programs. MNDNPCC works in conjunction with Academic Services (AS) to assess student competency
at entry into the program, at the end of the program, and at specified intervals following
graduation. Multiple sources of evaluation data are used, including students, faculty, graduates,
and work supervisors of graduates. MNDNPCC reviews data via an
annual program evaluation report, assessing outcomes
of students who complete the program against specific benchmarks,
and when indicated, appoints work groups to address areas of desired curricular change.
The MN and MS degree programs are evaluated by five tools (see below) designed to measure specific
outcomes related to MN Goals and
MS Goals and major curricular threads.
Outcomes were derived by examining each program's curricular objectives in relation to major curricular
threads. Three or four outcomes were selected to evaluate each of the five curricular objectives
since evaluating all 30 outcomes in the matrix was not feasible. The specific expected program
outcomes are displayed in the MN Matrix or
MS Matrix, where the curricular objectives are listed
horizontally and the curricular themes vertically.
Graduates complete the Alumni Follow-up Questionnaire and their supervisor completes the
Colleague Evaluation. Both questionnaires will be mailed to all MN and MS graduates in the first,
third, and fifth years after graduation.
