MEPN Students: Clinical Placements
Transportation to Clinical Sites
Transportation to and from the clinical sites as well as the cost of the
transportation (gasoline, bus pass, ferry fees) is the responsibility of
the student. We have clinical sites in the greater Seattle Metropolitan
area as well as adjacent counties. Clinical assignments are based on
providing students with a variety of clinical experiences throughout the
program; at times this necessitates travel time outside the Seattle
area. Access to the clinical site from your local address or other needs
cannot be taken into consideration when assignments are made.
Although most of the sites are accessible by public transportation, access
to an automobile is desirable especially in the later portions of the
program. Some clinical site placements require home visits to clients and
community centers; two clinical sites are located in the Poulsbo and Port
Gamble area which requires ferry travel as well as access to an
automobile.
During orientation to the clinical site your instructor will discuss
parking arrangements at the site if available; many of the metropolitan
sites are easier accessible by bus. Often students within the same
clinical section carpool if the site is not easy accessible by bus.
