BSN Students: Evaluations - Clinical and Laboratory Evaluation

Clinical courses are graded Credit/No Credit for the first four quarters; the last two quarters are graded.

Each student receives a clinical performance evaluation from the instructor at midterm and at the end of the quarter. The evaluation measures the student's performance in the course objectives, outlines strengths and weaknesses and makes appropriate recommendations for improvement if necessary. The student is asked to prepare a self-evaluation; this self-evaluation is incorporated into the performance evaluation prepared by the instructor. Student and instructor discuss the evaluation and sign it; the original is sent to Academic Services to be placed into the student's academic file.

Any concerns about the student's performance and conduct may be discussed during the evaluation meetings and the instructor may set-up special guidelines and objectives to assist the student. Students in danger of failing the course will receive a warning card.
