Learn how to create an eGC1, attach documents to an eGC1, and submit an eGC1 for review and approval.
Q0550: Facilities and Administrative Rate Calculation
The federal government funds more research and development at the University of Washington than at any other public institution in the United States, and is willing to reimburse the University for some of the overhead expenses incurred in providing physical facilities and administrative support necessary to conduct that research. The large volume of research makes reimbursement a major item in the University’s operating budget. This course examines the methodology of establishing and applying the “Facilities and Administrative Rate” (formerly “Indirect Cost Rate”) by which the University obtains reimbursement, and describes current federal regulations, primarily OMB Circular A-21, that govern the process.
