ANS-Exercise Lab
The Exercise and Cardiovascular Monitoring Laboratory is equipped with components of a BioPac physiological data acquisition and analysis system, a Holter analysis system, a baroreflex system, Hot Flash monitoring detector, metabolic cart, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring system, and respisomnograph system. For exercise studies, there is a Lifecycles treadmill, Quinton stationary bike, Lifefitness Universal gym, and a rack of free weights. The room is also designed to accommodate low-impact exercise and yoga therapies. Adjoining rooms are set aside for observational experiments, utilizing video and auditory analysis directed through a central control room. ECG carts are available, as well as a washroom/changing room which is located next to the exercise facility.
Application ProcessThis is a Clinical Studies Unit lab. To use this lab, an application must be submitted to the Clinical Studies Advisory Committee. Once the application is received by the Office for Nursing Research, the review process begins. The approval process takes a minimum of two weeks. |
