Postdoctoral Scholars External Applications
Postdoctoral scholars may submit externally funded research as principal investigators provided that if and when the grant is funded, they will have assumed a faculty position at the University of Washington School of Nursing. Therefore, within the context of the grant application and on the GC-1 form, there must be a statement that if the grant is awarded the status of the particular person will change from postdoctoral scholar to a tenure track or research faculty position. Before the grant proposal is approved and submitted the postdoctoral scholar must be reviewed by the faculty of the respective department and offered a tenure or research track faculty position.
Grant applications submitted by postdoctoral scholars must be co-signed by the faculty mentor.
