Faculty Appreciation Award

Description

The Sandy Eyres Faculty Appreciation Award is presented each summer quarter. Staff, Faculty, and Students may nominate faculty who they feel best exemplify outstanding interaction between staff, students, and with other faculty. Nominations may be submitted for any faculty member who demonstrates a long-standing commitment to the school's mission and goals, one who is mature, professional, courteous, and respectful towards others at the School of Nursing.

Criteria & Process:

1. Nominations must be at least a paragraph or two describing why the faculty person is deserving of the award.
2. Must be substantive, specific and include examples that support the nomination.
3. May be submitted by letter to snelson@u.washington.edu. Hard copies are preferred as they go to the nominees and the recipient.

Examples include, but are not limited to:

• Treats everyone with respect
• A long-term improvement
• Cost/time savings
• Opening channels of communication
• Improvement to services provided
• A creative process or outcome

Process

Recipients who are nominated will be chosen based on the total number of nominations submitted.  The Staff Advisory Council will collect all nominations. After the submission deadline date, Staff Advisory Council will tally all nominations and verify the next Sandy Eyres Faculty award recipient. In case of a tie in nominations, the Staff Advisory Council will determine the recipient based on consistency of content with other nominations. Only one award will be given per year and all nominees are voted on by the School of Nursing staff, faculty, and students. The Staff Advisory Council will coordinate voting and release the results.

Deadline : July 16, 2010

The award will be presented in the Summer Staff Advisory Council Meet.
