Endowed Funds
There are many ways to make a gift to the UW School of Nursing, but an endowment is the philanthropic act of a lifetime, leaving a lasting legacy for generations to come. Endowed funds forever finance teaching, research and service programs that make a difference in our communities and beyond. The School of Nursing and those we serve currently benefit from two newly established funds, five existing endowed and term professorships and more than 45 scholarship, fellowship and research funds:
Endowed and Term Professorships
Our faculty drives the process of teaching and discovery that has made the Nursing School No. 1 in the nation. Professorships and chairs are a way for us to recognize extraordinary accomplishment, and they help us to attract and keep world-class professors, especially at a time of intense competition for the best nursing faculty.
The Alumni Endowed Professorship Fund: More than 30 alumni and friends gave $250,000 to establish Nursing's newest professorship to honor and support our outstanding nursing faculty. The Alumni Endowed Professorship Fund will help us retain and reward the world-class faculty on which our programs and reputation are built, and will encourage innovation in teaching and research. Looking ahead, our goal is to grow this fund to $1 million, the minimum needed to create an endowed chair. Consider making a gift in the name of a favorite faculty member. You'll honor a mentor while securing our future.
