2007 Nurses Recognition Banquet Photo Gallery

Each May during National Nurses Week, the UW School of Nursing hosts its Nurses Recognition Banquet to honor outstanding nurses and nursing leaders. This year's celebration focused on the important role mentorship plays in career development and satisfaction.

On behalf of the School of Nursing, Dean Nancy Fugate Woods handed out leadership awards to Meg Hatlen MN '96, Humanitarian Award winner; Mary Salazar BSN '82, MN '86, Distinguished Alumni Award winner; and Elaine Adams Thompson BSN '70, MN '72, PhD '90, Distinguished Researcher Award Winner. Betty McCurdy BSN '49, recipient of this year's Outstanding Volunteer Award, was unable to attend the event. From Northwest Hospital & Medical Center, a silver sponsor of the event, are Gayle Ward, VP of nursing services and chief nursing officer, and Lorna Andrews, nursing director	Eric Liu, guest speaker at the banquet, shared inspiring stories of mentorship he gathered while researching his book Guiding Lights.
Clete Galbreath, regional sales manager for Laerdal, discusses the SimBaby teaching simulator with PhD student Delonna Zarelli.	John Lenarczak, maintenance and service representative for Stryker, the platinum sponsor for the banquet, and Associate Dean Sue Woods discuss one of the eight hospital beds Stryker donated to the School of Nursing's learning lab.
