Teaching Supports - Preceptor Resources
The faculty, staff, and students of the University of Washington School of
Nursing thank all of our preceptors for your efforts on behalf of the
education of our students. We value your interest in and commitment to
our academic programs, and recognize you as individuals who demonstrate
excellence in clinical practice and/or community service.
As you know, our students need high-quality, precepted clinical
experiences on a quarterly basis as part of their education. Preceptors
for graduate students in the Master of Nursing program may be physicians,
nurse practitioners, osteopaths or physician assistants. For undergraduate
students, preceptors may be Registered Nurses prepared with either a BSN
or MN degree. All preceptors provide an invaluable piece of students'
clinical education.
Please use the following Preceptor Resources to support your role and
development as a preceptor. Whether you have previous experience with
students or are just beginning to add teaching to your professional
skills, the School hopes these resources will be of help to you.
