Faculty: Open Positions

  • The University of Washington School of Nursing solicits applications and nominations for the position of Chairperson of the Department of Psychosocial and Community Health Nursing.  The Department is a lively, collaborative intellectual community of students, staff and faculty that emphasizes critical thinking and participatory decision-making in research, teaching, practice, and departmental governance. The Department is home to Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing, the Family Nurse Practitioner program, and Community Health Nursing, which includes Occupational Health.  Department faculty and staff are committed to working with a diverse student body and offering a variety of educational options, baccalaureate to post doctoral, throughout the Pacific Northwest and around the world.  Faculty scholarship focuses on diverse health experiences across ethnic identities, color, class, gender, lifespan, and urban/rural settings.  Central to the Department's mission is the promotion of social justice and access to healthcare for all.

  • The University of Washington School of Nursing seeks dynamic individuals for the position of Research Assistant Professor in the departments of Biobehavioral Nursing and Health Systems, Family and Child Nursing, or Psychosocial and Community Health. Appointment at the Research Associate and Research Professor levels also will be considered under exceptional circumstances. Work environment includes strong participatory decision-making, critical thinking, and collaborative mentoring for developing academic investigators. Ph.D. required, Nursing preferred, related fields considered.

  • The University of Washington School of Nursing seeks dynamic individuals for the position of Assistant Professor, Tenure Track in the departments of Biobehavioral Nursing and Health Systems, Family and Child Nursing, or Psychosocial and Community Health. Appointment at the Associate and Professor levels also will be considered under exceptional circumstances. The successful candidate will be expected to teach across levels of the curriculum (BSN, MN, PhD) and to develop and sustain a program of research. Work environment includes strong participatory decision-making, critical thinking, and collaborative mentoring for developing academic investigators. Ph.D. required, Nursing preferred, related fields considered.

Appointment at the Associate and Professor levels also will be considered under exceptional circumstances.   • The Department of Biobehavioral Nursing and Health Systems at the University of Washington seeks candidates for the position of Assistant Professor, Without Tenure. Appointment at the Associate Professor, Without Tenure level also will be considered under exceptional circumstances.

  • The Psychosocial & Community Health Department in the University of Washington School of Nursing is seeking candidates for a tenure-track faculty position in community health nursing at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank. Applicants with an earned Doctorate will be considered.

  • The University of Washington School of Nursing is seeking applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Family and Child Nursing. Applicants with expertise in neonatal nursing will be considered. Eligibility for nursing license in Washington, an earned doctorate in nursing or a related field, and preparation as a neonatal nurse practitioner are required.

  • The University of Washington School of Nursing seeks dynamic individuals for the position of Lecturer, Part-Time in the Department of Family and Child Nursing. The University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. This position includes teaching responsibilities for undergraduate pediatric nursing. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of Masters level education in Nursing and at least two years of experience in caring for pediatric patients.
