Research - Kerry Meyer's research goals are in the field of health care information systems. Kerry's current research focus on designing very large database applications for acute hospitals supporting normative comparisons of cost, quality and service information. HBS International, a company located in Bellevue, Washington supports Kerry's work where she is currently employed as Chief Clinical Architect. Kerry has also studied methods to risk adjust large data sets of clinical indicators. Previous research agendas include the evaluation of telemedicine, electronic medical records processes and nurse expert systems.
Teaching - Kerry has taught courses in healthcare information systems for more than 10 years. Courses include decision support, data modeling, artificial intelligence, knowledge acquisition and project management. Currently, Kerry has developed educational packages for clients of HBSI on risk adjustment and quality process improvement.
Service - Kerry has practiced as a geriatric nurse practitioner for more than 15 years. She participants in a number of local, national and international information organizations to improve patient access to health care and move health information systems forward.
