Email Address:
I graduated from the UW BSN program in 1983 and went on to get my MSN from the University of California San Francisco/San Diego in 1988. I have been practicing as a full scope CNM in the same practice in the Seattle area since 1988. Originally the Virginia Mason Midwifery group, our midwifery group joined Neighborcare Health in 2002. I currently practice at Rainier Beach Medical and Dental Clinic and do deliveries at the Family Beginnigs Unit at Group Health Central. Neighborcare provides safety net health care to a very ethnically diverse population. The rich diversity of my clients in one of the things that I love about being a midwife in the Neighborcare practice.
I joined the faculty of the Nurse-Midwifery program in 2002 and am currently a Senior Lecturer and the Community Liaison. I love clinical teaching and have precepted nurse-midwifery students for over 15 years. I am very interested in clinical teaching and precepting. I currently chair the Preceptor Development and Support Committee of the American College of Nurse-Midwives and teach seminars on precepting.
