| Dr. Young's research and clinical interests include community health nursing, late life transitions, caregiving, and care of people with cognitive impairment. She has collaborated on research projects on resilience, health promotion, community-based caregiving, and risk assessment for older adults. She recently wrote a book entitled, Choices: Making a Good Move to a Retirement Community, based on her doctoral research on making a move to retirement housing. With her co-author, Dr. Rheba de Tornyay, she explores the complexity of making this important decision and adjusting successfully to a new home. | |
| In addition to being a member of the faculty of the University of Washington, Dr. Young is Chief Operations Officer for ERA Care, a company that owns and operates five retirement communities in Seattle, WA. She has developed and implemented health care programs in the communities that promote health for residents in Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing Facilities. |
