Advancing Nursing Research
With a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and patient care the UW School of Nursing is the No. 3 Nursing School in research funding from the NIH, with six centers of excellence and over 185 active and pending research projects.

| Research: Dr. Thomas’ research interests involve effects of NICU environment on infant outcomes, thermoregulation, development of infant sleep-wake pattern and circadian rhythm, and parent-infant sleep interaction. Dr. Thomas is Co-Director of the Biotools Core for the Center for Research in the Management of Sleep Disturbances. | |
| Teaching: Dr. Thomas has taught extensively in the undergraduate nursing program and mentored graduate students with interests in family and child nursing. | |
