Dr. Swanson empirically developed a middle range theory of caring which she and others have replicated and/or tested with individuals, families, and groups experiencing a variety of health challenges. Service/Practice: Dr. Swanson's theory of caring has been incorporated into practice and education models at a variety of health care settings throughout the United States.
