Advancing Nursing Research
With a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and patient care the UW School of Nursing is the No. 3 Nursing School in research funding from the NIH, with six centers of excellence and over 185 active and pending research projects.

| I am an Adult Nurse Practitioner with special interests in health promotion and risk reduction for older adult populations, and in working with debilitated older persons and their families. I am also interested in designing and providing appropriate teaching tools for clinical use, applying the principles of adult learning and health literacy. | |
| The use of simulated patients, computer simulations and web-based teaching formats to enhance student learning fascinates me. I have the opportunity to apply these educational tools with students in the Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychosocial Mental Health Nurse Practitioner graduate pathways. | |
