American Academy of Nursing Criteria for Selection for Fellowship
- Membership in good standing in a state nurses association that holds
membership in the American Nurses Association.
- Evidence of outstanding contributions to nursing over and above those
which are required in one's position of employment. These might include
the following:
- Creative efforts that have contributed to effective nursing
practice.
- Research or demonstration projects that have contributed to
improvement in nursing.
- Creative development, utilization, or evaluation of specific
concepts or theories in nursing education, practice, or
research.
- Authorship of books, articles or other communication media that
have had significant implications for nursing.
- Significant influence in the evolution of health policy.
- Evidence of potential to continue contributions to nursing and the
Academy, such as the following:
- Activities that reflect a broad perspective of nursing's
commitment to society.
- Active participation in nursing and other organizations at the
local, state, national, or international level.
- Contributions that address the goals of the Academy.
