Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Overview
The School of Nursing offers a Master's Degree in Nursing with a program focus
in Pediatrics that emphasizes family centered, community-based
and culturally competent care. Completion of this program allows graduates to sit for
national certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
Courses include:
- Health Promotion and Assessment
- Advanced Practice Pediatric Primary Care Management
- Pharmacology: General and Pediatric Specific
- Care Coordination and Collaboration with Families and other Professionals
- Leadership and Policy Changes
- Clinical Research and Program Evaluation
- Clinical Placements
Within the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Program, the focus is on health promotion, maintenance of
health, and treatment of common acute and chronic conditions
of youth in a family and community context.
In addition, areas of specialty focus are available
