Degree Programs: MN Costs and Financial Aid

MN Program Costs
Total cost of the MN program includes tuition (tuition for the MN program is separate from the Tiers I-III Graduate Tuition; under the Seattle heading look for the Nursing Masters/Doctor of Nursing Practice bullet further down) a student budget for room, board, books, and transportation, and a one-time student health fee. MN students may study on a full-time or part-time basis, depending on their focal area.
The UW is committed to actively recruiting graduate and professional students from throughout the nation and the world, and to providing competitive recruitment packages. Read about the University of Washington's tuition residency policy or contact the Residence Classification Office at: 264 Schmitz Hall, 206-543-5932, resquest@u.washington.edu.

Graduate Service Appointments
The University offers a number of graduate service appointments (e.g. Teaching Assistantships, Research Assistantships, Fellowships, Traineeships). Such appointees (both domestic and international)
work with faculty on active research grants and other educational activities and in exchange, receive full tuition waivers as well as health insurance coverage for themselves and their dependents. These positions are posted to masters nursing student email lists when they become available.

In addition, non-resident domestic students who do not hold graduate service appointments but who are in their second or later year of enrollment may be eligible to qualify for residency or may be awarded a non-resident tuition waiver, thereby allowing them to pay in-state tuition.

Financial Aid Information
Some financial aid is available to eligible students through the University and School. Completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid Form (FAFSA) is required for most of the aid administered through the University. Priority filing date is February 28.
