Vital Applicant Information: Resume Tips

Make sure to PROOF READ for errors; check your phone number too!

Use your full name, address, and phone number at the top of your first page. If its longer than one page, make sure your name is at the top of any additional pages.

ALWAYS print dates of employment/activity for EACH position on your resume. You will be asked to provide this in any application process.

Use fonts that are easy to read. Never hand write ANY notes on your resume; spend the time to re-print any changes. Your admissions essay can point out any specifics.

Use PLAIN resume stock paper in a pale color. The marbled stationery and darker paper colors detract from the professionalism of your resume and make illegible faxes and copies.

Do not print references on your resume. Be selective about who contacts your references!
