2008 MEPN/GEPN Admissions Updates

Information Sessions for
School of Nursing Degree Programs

You -- and anyone who may be interested -- are cordially invited and encouraged to attend any of our UW School of Nursing information sessions held in the Magnuson Health Sciences Center. Separate sessions are held for our BSN, Master's, and Doctor of Nursing Practice Programs as well as the Master's Entry in Nursing Program. Information sessions are run by School of Nursing Academic Services staff. Attend the sessions to learn tips for submitting a competitive application!

Please double-check this website prior to coming to an info session to be sure it has not been cancelled. Cancellation is rare but does happen on occasion.

Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)

PROGRAM DEADLINE: January 15th (This deadline is extended to 5pm of the next business day if the deadline falls on a weekend day or holiday.)

BSN Information Sessions are now being held the first Thursday of every month at 12 noon. An additional evening session will happen on the same day only during the months of January, May, September, and November at 5:30pm.

Master's Entry Program in Nursing (MEPN)
Graduate Entry Program in Nursing (GEPN)

PROGRAM DEADLINE: October 15th (This deadline is extended to 5pm of the next business day if the deadline falls on a weekend day or holiday.)

Starting in September 2007, a combined MEPN/GEPN info session will be available. They are held on the first Wednesday of every month, with a morning session at 12 noon and an evening session at 6pm.

Master's of Nursing (MN)
Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)

PROGRAM PRIORITY DEADLINE: January 15th (This deadline is extended to 5pm of the next business day if the deadline falls on a weekend day or holiday.)

After January 15, MN/MS applications will be welcomed and accepted on a space-available basis.

Information sessions for the MN and the DNP programs are combined into one session. They are held the first Tuesday of every month, with a morning session at 12 noon and an evening session at 5:30pm. PLEASE NOTE: The July MN/DNP program information sessions have been CANCELLED.

The School of Nursing does not hold information sessions for the Master of Science (MS) or Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Science (PhD) programs. Please contact Academic Services with your questions: sonas@u.washington.edu OR 206-543-8736/1-800-759-NURS.

Bothell & Tacoma Campuses
(BSN Completion Program for RNs & MN Program)

Both the UW Bothell (UWB) and UW Tacoma (UWT) campuses offer a BSN Completion Program for RNs, and UW Tacoma also has an MN program.

UWB offers nursing advising during weekly advising sessions done in Student Affairs. UW Bothell Information Sessions for all programs are every Wednesday, 12:00pm and 5:30pm. Call 425/352-5000 or visit the website at http://www.bothell.washington.edu/nursing/ for directions and program information.

UWT monthly Information Sessions are held on the first Tuesday of every month at 12:30pm and 6:00pm. The Resource Table opens 1/2 hour before. Optional campus tours are at 1:35pm and 7:05pm following the Information Sessions. The nursing program contacts are Dannah Madden, RN to BSN Coordinator, and Ginger Hill, Graduate Advisor.
