Graduate Non Matriculated: GNM Admission Requirements

GNM Admission Criteria

Information submitted by the applicant will be evaluated by the School of Nursing based on the following criteria:

  • Graduation from an approved baccalaureate program with a grade point average of 3.0 in the last 90 quarter (60 semester) credits;
  • Written goal statement referencing the plan for graduate study;
  • Current Washington State RN license for courses involving clinical experience; and
  • Criminal History/Background Check clearance. All applicants must use the on-line service, Verified Credentials and pay the required fee. In addition to providing a check for any state in which you have resided during the last three years, the background check will run your name against a list published in the Federal Register of persons excluded from participation in federally-funded healthcare programs.

    Petitions will be considered for applicants not meeting the above criteria and should include information to support the capability for graduate study, such as recent graded coursework, GRE scores, resume, and letters of reference.

Applicant will be notified of the admission decision by the GNM Office. Once you have been admitted you will put in contact with the appropriate School of Nursing GNM coordinator, depending on your area of interest. This coordinator will help you plan which course(s) to enroll in.
