Distance Learning: Overview
The University of Washington School of Nursing currently offers Technology Enhanced and Distance Learning (TEDL) options for required courses of select Master of Nursing (MN) / Master of Science (MS) focal areas.
TEDL can help students further their education with minimal commuting to the Seattle campus. Although initially designed for rural and remote students, many focal areas offer TEDL enhancements for local students. Web courses, video streaming, video conferencing, and Web communication technologies enable students to access MN/MS course content for select focal areas.
All focal areas have some on-campus requirements, though they vary within each focal area. For a sample course grid of TEDL delivery methods, click here. For more detailed information about distance support within a specific focal area, please contact the appropriate focal area representative. A list of focal areas with TEDL components is listed below. Choose the focal area of interest, and click on "For More Information".
TEDL opportunities are available in the following MN/MS focal areas:
If you are interested in a TEDL Master's focal area not listed above, or have questions about distance learning options, click here to submit a request online, or email sondl@u.washington.edu.
Applicants should meet UW Master of Nursing/Master of Science Admissions requirements. Arrangements for TEDL support must be made at time of application to the UW School of Nursing. For information on the application process, click here.
