Who am I?
After education in the Midwest, BSN Loyola University of Chicago and MPH, University of Michigan, I spent several years in the Public Health Service, Indian Health, Arizona. I am a nationally certified Family Nurse Practitioner with special interest in health promotion, risk reduction,and behavior change.In addition I have research and practice experience in counseling patients coping with infertility. Academic teaching experience includes University of Illinois, Chicago and University of Washington.My most recent research was a grounded theory study,"Tapping the Wisdom of Pioneer Nurse Practitioners", funded by the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF).Publications and papers include articles and book chapters on health promotion, behavior change, and emotional aspects of infertility.Major teaching responsibilities include core health promotion in Primary Care, seminar and clinical in the Family Nurse Practitioner program.
