I am an Adult Nurse Practitioner with special interests in health promotion and risk reduction for older adult populations, and in working with debilitated older persons and their families. I am also interested in designing and providing appropriate teaching tools for clinical use, applying the principles of adult learning and health literacy. I currently practice as a primary care provider in a multidisciplinary internal medicine practice where I get to see a full spectrum of adult ages. I deal with a broad spectrum of health maintenance and chronic and acute illness.

The use of simulated patients, computer simulations and web-based teaching formats to enhance student learning fascinates me. I have the opportunity to apply these educational tools with students in the Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychosocial Mental Health Nurse Practitioner graduate pathways.

“Using Web Based Cases for Problem Based Learning”, “Distance Learning Modalities” as a part of a Symposium on “Rural Expansion of an Urban Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program”, “Case-based teaching and learning experiences”, “Incorporating standardized patients into a psychosocial nurse practitioner program”.
