Security

Building and personal security is everyone's responsibility. The major use of the T-wing is from 8 AM to 5 PM. Outside of these hours, halls are infrequently patrolled by security personnel. There are always a number of computer thefts on campus. Also, purses and wallets have been stolen out of School of Nursing offices. The following suggestions are offered in the interest of maintaining your personal safety and property:

1. Lock your office door if you are leaving it for ANY period of time.

2. DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES IN YOUR OFFICE. Or, if you must, lock them in your desk or file cabinet and lock your office door as well.

3. Keep the phone number for University police in a prominent place in your office.

EMERGENCY NUMBER: 9-911 OR 222
Other calls: 543-9331

4. Inform others in your area of suspicious events - play your hunches!

5. In the event of a potential incident, remember that NOISE IS AN EFFECTIVE DETERRENT.

6. If you are alone in your area after hours, keep your door closed and locked.

To report an Urgent Threat call the Violence Prevention & Response Team at 685-SAFE.
