Managing an Award

  • Advance Budget Numbers. When you need a new budget number for the start or continuation of a project while waiting for a new Notice of Grant Award, you can apply for an Advance Budget Number. Advance budget numbers will only be issued once the sponsor has confirmed the funding of the project, and you will need an approved e-GC1 too.
  • Grant & Contract Accounting (GCA) The GCA contact team for all SoN grant & contract accounting questions is Team 4: 3-8947
  • Filing for a No-Cost Extension: Complete this web-form at least ten working days before the expiration date of a grant to request an extension with no additional funding. OSP actually does the communicating with the granting agency. First step is completion of the above form. Then OSP staff pulls up the relevant files/information, checks that a one-year no cost extension is allowed for the grant under expanded authorities. If it is allowed, OSP will then submit the request from UW.
  • Calculator Tools
  • Understanding Faculty Effort and Cost Sharing
  • Concurrence Letters from OSP
  • To establish a sub-budget from a grant or contract parent budget, complete a TRANSPASU form and submit it to New Accounts; Grant & Contract Accounting, Box 351122. Sub-budgets are frequently established to transfer money to another department or organization code in which a portion of a project is taking place.
