Nursing Informatics

The back of Aubrey Hale's Head
Nursing informatics combines nursing with information science and computer science in order to support nursing practice, nursing research and the delivery of care. Recognizing that information about health care and technology changes almost as fast as it can be implemented into curriculum, the School this fall launched a new introductory course in informatics designed to teach undergraduate students how to access information. Informatics components will also be introduced into existing undergraduate courses. In addition, new programs in biomedical and health informatics are currently being developed at the master’s and doctoral levels. These will include courses in biomedicine and health care, computing and information science, and biomedical informatics.
