Michael Kennedy Receives Two Prestigious Awards


Research Assistant Professor Michael Kennedy was selected by UW President Richard McCormick as a Presidential Faculty Development Fellow, and will receive funding to develop a program of clinical research with Asian Pacific Americans who have acute and chronic mental health problems. In addition, Kennedy was one of 16 new investigators selected for a new National Institutes of Health mentorship program, Building the Capacity of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Researchers. He currently works with Associate Professor Karen Schepp on the Family Centered Program for Adolescents with Mental Illness.

Dr. Michael Kennedy travels to Thailand every summer to give university lectures on psychiatric nursing.
