Word 2007: Working in Outline view
Outline view helps you see how your document is organized. To have outline view, you need to assign heading levels to the headings in your document. In Outline view, you can see all the headings in your document and move a section by selecting its headings and drag them to a different location of the document.
- On the View tab, in the Document Views group, click Outline .

- To assign heading levels to your headings, highlight a heading first.
- In Outline View, under Outlining, click Body Text to assign the level.

- After assigning heading levels to all of the headings, you can view your documents in different ways by choosing an option from the Show Level drop-down list. To see only first-level headings, choose Level 1. To see first-, second-, and third-level headings, choose Level 3. Choose All Levels to see all the headings.

- To move a section up or down in the document, highlight the heading of the section and click the Move Up or Move Down button. You also can drag it to a new location .
