Windows Help: Alternate Ways of Accessing
Network Drives
There are alternative ways to get to network resources that you
should be aware of - that may be quicker for you and you do not
need to wait for us to create.
For instance, if you go to your 'Start' button then 'Run' and
type in \\Sondata\group
then press OK you will find yourself at the same location if you
go to through "My Computer"
and doubleclick on K to open the drive.
There are also other ways to get there as well. You can use "Network
Neighborhood" in Windows 2000 or "My Network Places"
in windows XP and browse to Sondata.
Doubleclicking on it will open to the 'Server Shares' and the
list for Sondata. You will see Group & Share. Share and Group
are our O and K drives, respectively.
These are methods for accessing network resources you can use
elsewhere as well - for any of our servers - \\artemis for network
printers or \\sonapp1 or \\sonapp2 for applications.
