As a PNP you will provide comprehensive health care to children and adolescents working
as an independent practitioner as part of a multidisciplinary team. PNPs work in a variety
of health care settings including community clinics, schools, outpatient offices, and
inpatient and outpatient hospital settings.
Our program prepares you for:
- Independent and interdependent decision making
- Development and implementation of health policy
- Leadership in nursing and the community
- Direct accountability for clinical decisions
- Collaborative practice
- Differential diagnosis and acute and chronic care management
- Case management
- Providing developmental and family centered approaches
- Conducting and utilizing research for evidence-informed practice
As a graduate of our program you will have the educational preparation required to apply
for the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) certification exam. Certification is available
through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) OR the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB). This
certification is required to obtain Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) state licensure.
