The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program prepares you for a tripartite role in advanced practice nursing, leadership, and practice inquiry.

Advanced Practice nursing qualifies you to apply for national certification in a selected specialty. Post-master's DNP students who do not seek additional certification focus on integrating practice inquiry and leadership into practice.

Leadership encompasses organizations/systems, information technology, policy, professional identity, and skills in leadership and inter-professional collaboration within a social justice context.

Practice Inquiry focuses on critically appraising and translating evidence into practice.

DNP graduates provide leadership in multiple areas, including quality improvement and systems management. They are competent, reflective clinicians within their area of advanced practice nursing.
