Prospective Students

Minimum Requirements for Application to the DNP Program

  • a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the last 90 graded quarter credits
  • one of the following:
    • a baccalaureate degree from a nationally accredited university
    • an associate degree or diploma from a nationally-accredited RN program, and a baccalaureate degree in a non-nursing field
    • a Master of Nursing degree from an accredited nursing program
  • an active, unrestricted U.S. RN license at the time of application. ARNP licenses must also be active and unrestricted U.S. ARNP license at the time of application. If you do not have an active, unrestricted Washington State license, you must obtain one prior to beginning the Doctor of Nursing Practice program.
  • Post-baccalaureate applicants only: completion of an approved 3 quarter credit basic course in descriptive and inferential statistics with a grade of at least 2.0.
  • meeting Essential Behaviors for graduate students
  • if applicable, adequate TOEFL/TSE scores


Required Application Materials

  1. DNP application instructions
  2. Online DNP application, including School of Nursing Supplemental Form
  3. resume
  4. three (3) letters of recommendation
  5. admissions questions
  6. scholarly writing sample
  7. completed Conviction/Criminal History and Authorization for Repeat Background Checks and Dissemination of Results Form
  8. official transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended
  9. copies of English competency scores (if applicable)
  10. BSN equivalency essays (if applicable)
