The Graduate Certificate Program in Advanced Practice Nursing (GCPAPN) is available to students who have completed a graduate degree or are currently matriculated in a graduate degree program. A minimum of 15 credits (9 graded) are required for completion of all GCPAPN options. Some elective courses may be applied to both the certificate and a graduate degree at the University of Washington. A GCPAPN will be awarded only to students who:

  1. have previously earned a master's degree or higher, or
  2. are being awarded a UW graduate degree in the same quarter as the GCPAPN.

Admissions criteria vary slightly based on the focus of the certificate. Some certificate program options require an RN license. All options of the certificate program require:

  • completion or concurrent enrollment in a graduate degree
  • a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the last 90 quarter (60 semester) credits
