Financial Assistance Opportunities

Financial Aid
Some financial aid is available to eligible students through the University of Washington and School of Nursing. You must apply by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid Form (FAFSA). The priority deadline for submitting the FAFSA is February 28.

Nursing Student Loan Programs
The UW School of Nursing has established partnerships with local medical centers where a student agrees to work as a registered nurse, upon graduation, at that medical center in exchange for tuition (or tuition plus a stipend). Opportunities are currently available from the following medical centers:

UWMC-Harborview Medical Center Nursing Student Loan Program
A BSN student agrees to work as a Registered Nurse at UWMC or HMC upon graduation from the UW School of Nursing in exchange for resident tuition while a student. For every year of resident tuition paid for by the Medical Center, the student agrees to work one year as an RN at that Medical Center. The student also agrees to work (for pay) at the Medical Center for 32 hours each month while in School. Students selected upon entry to the School of Nursing work at the Medical Center during the summer between their junior and senior years as well. All BSN students are encouraged to apply!
