The Adult Nurse Practioner (ANP) specialty is offered within both the Master of
Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs, and focuses on the care of adults
from adolescence through old age and across the health continuum. Diverse clinical
practice learning opportunities prepare the graduate for roles as a collaborative
member of the health care team and as a primary health care provider.
Students may choose Adult Nurse Practitioner to become an ANP GENERALIST. Or,
they may choose to enhance their education through coursework in a particular area
of interest including courses in:
- Acute and hospital-based care of medically vulnerable adults
- Prevention and treatment of infectious diseases
- Care of older adults in different environments including home care and hospice
- Health care in rural and underserved areas
