Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) preparation is offered within both the Master of Nursing
and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs. Students are able to focus on adult health, critical
care, or infectious disease/infection.
Adult CNS program outcomes include the ability to:
- develop an evidence-based advanced nursing practice involving a specific patient
population within a specific health care setting
- incorporate clinical, educational, research, leadership, and management skills into an
advanced practice role
- develop collaborative relationships and partnerships between disciplines
- recognize and understand the effects of selected economic, societal, legislative,
ethical, or legal health care issues and their resolution within your advanced practice
