NIDA Research Training, Substance Abuse

The University of Washington School of Nursing has been awarded 5 years of additional funding by NIDA for research training in substance abuse. The primary areas of training are in substance abuse treatment research and epidemiology research. We have immediate openings for four postdoctoral trainees. Two traineeships are available for persons whose doctoral degrees are in medicine, psychology, social work, or other health sciences. Two traineeships are available for persons who hold nursing doctorates.

Qualifications:
U.S. citizenship
An earned doctorate within the past 3 years
Commitment to 2-3 years of research training
Basic knowledge of substance abuse
Potential to design, implement, and self-evaluate an individualized training plan

Potential Applicants Should Submit:
A letter of intent to comply with federal regulations and a minimum of 2 years of training
An initial 2-3-page statement of goals
A CV
Graduate school transcripts
Three letters of reference
Copies of two recent peer-reviewed publications
