Congratulations on Many New Grants

Many of our colleagues have been getting phone calls and notices of grant award for their recent grant proposals that are being funded. Please join us in congratulating the following on these happy occasions:
    Dr. Frances Lewis (FCN): "Quality of Life and Adjustment for Couples Experiencing Advanced Breast Cancer" Oncology Nursing Society (her co-investigators are Dr. Mel Haberman, ICNE, and Dr. Julie Gralow, School of Medicine)

    Dr. Susan McCurry (PCH): "Treating Neuropsychiatric Problems in Dementia" National Institute of Mental Health. Her sponsors on this KO1 award are Dr. Linda Teri (PCH), Dr. Patricia Prinz (BNHS) and Dr. Michael Vitiello (Psychiatry & Behavioral Science)

    Dr. Pamela Mitchell (BNHS): "Improving Cerebral Perfusion Pressure Management: Information Feedback & Nursing", National Institute of Nursing Research (co-investigators are Dr. Robert Burr (PCH), Dr. Kyra Becker (Neurology), Dr. Sean Grady, Dr. David Newell (Neurosurgery), Ms. Karen March, Harborview Medical Center)

    Dr. Brooke Randall (PCH): "Promoting CARE: Counselors & Parents Prevent Youth Suicide Risk", National Institute of Nursing Research (co-investigators are Dr. Lee Eggert (PCH), Dr. Jerald Herting (Battelle))

Dr. Diana Wilkie and colleagues will be starting up three new initiatives this spring:
    "Computerized Symptom Report: Consult for Cancer Patients" National Cancer Institute
    "Computerized PAINReport and Nursing PAINConsult Protocol" National Institute of Nursing Research
    "Tool-Kit for Nursing Excellence at End of Life Transition" Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
