Book Review of Marie-Annette Brown, Ph.D., and Jo Robinson's "When Your Body Gets the Blues"

One out of four women suffer from misdiagnosed and untreated symptoms of depression. These can include low energy, overeating, decreased interest in sex, irritability, sleep problems and difficulty concentrating, among other complaints. Until now, the only treatment for these symptoms was counseling and drug therapy.

In their new book, When Your Body Gets the Blues, Marie-Annette Brown, Ph.D., nurse researcher and professor at the University of Washington, and New York Times best-selling author Jo Robinson describe an alternative -a drug-free solution that works based on scientific studies by Brown and her research team at the UW School of Nursing. The book details a proven strategy for relieving the symptoms of "body blues" without medications using brisk outdoor exercise, increased exposure to daylight, and six readily-available vitamins and minerals.
