Dean receives Edith Moore Copeland Award for Excellence in Creativity


Dean Marla Salmon received the 2009 Edith Moore Copeland Award for Excellence in Creativity from Sigma Theta Tau International on November 2, 2009. The Copeland Award is one of six Founder's awards bestowed by The Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International and is one of the highest honors bestowed by the Society. The award celebrates the advancement of nursing through creativity in education, practice and research.

Dr. Salmon received this award for her work on the book “NURSE: A World of Care.” The Society cited her work nationally and internationally in support of a positive view of nursing around the globe.  As the senior editor, Dr. Salmon “brought to life a celebration of the extraordinary work of nurses throughout the world,” according to the Society.

The Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) honors nurses and others for their contributions to professional excellence with the 2009 International Awards for Nursing Excellence. These awards recognize achievements in the fields of technology, media, chapter excellence, research and leadership.
